Subi is a Chrome extension for YouTube subtitle translation and word explanations. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use Subi.

Information we process

• Account information, such as an email address, if you sign in.
• Subscription and billing status provided by our payment processor.
• YouTube caption text, selected words or subtitle lines, target language, translation quality tier, and related settings needed to provide translation and explanation features.
• Credit ledger records, including grants, debits, refunds, subscription status, and request identifiers used to prevent duplicate charges.
• Session, cookie, browser extension storage, and basic technical information needed for login, security, debugging, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and service reliability.

Chrome extension permissions

Subi requests the minimum extension permissions currently needed for the product: storage to save account, session, language, onboarding, and UI preferences, and webRequest with YouTube access to observe caption requests so subtitles can be detected and processed. Subi also communicates with api.subititles.com for login, account sync, credits, billing, translation, and explanations.

How we use information

• Provide bilingual subtitles, AI translation, and word explanations.
• Manage credits, subscriptions, fraud prevention, and account access.
• Improve reliability, detect abuse, and fix product issues.
• Respond to support requests.

AI processing

When you request translation or explanations, the relevant caption text, selected words or subtitle lines, language settings, and quality tier may be sent to AI service providers to generate the requested output. We do not sell this information.

Limited use

Subi uses Chrome extension user data only to provide and improve the extension's visible features: login, account sync, credits, billing status, YouTube subtitle detection, AI subtitle translation, explanations, subtitle export, security, fraud prevention, debugging, and support. We do not sell user data, transfer it to data brokers or information resellers, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.

Payments

Subscription checkout is handled by Creem. We do not store full card numbers or payment credentials on our servers.

Service providers

We may use infrastructure, authentication, payment, and AI service providers to operate Subi. These providers process information only as needed to deliver the service.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for product operation, legal compliance, billing records, credit accounting, security, and support. Cache and diagnostic data may be deleted or rotated periodically.

Your choices

You can uninstall the extension, sign out, or contact us to request account-related data deletion where applicable.
